Kim Jae-kwang, CEO of Vueron Technology (Vueron), announced on the 4th that he received the Minister’s Commendation from the Ministry of SMEs and Startups in recognition of achievements in the ‘Super Gap Startup 1000+ Project (DIPS 1000+)’.
This commendation is awarded to founders of startups with outstanding performance in the ‘Super Gap Startup 1000+ Project,’ a national strategic initiative led by the Ministry of SMEs and Startups to foster over 1,000 deep-tech startups in ten next-generation industries, including system semiconductors, bio, and future mobility.
Last May, Vueron was selected as a target company for the Super Gap Startup 1000+ Project by the Ministry of SMEs and Startups and has been receiving up to 600 million KRW in business commercialization funds over three years. Notably, Vueron was also recognized in separate evaluations for its achievements in commercializing Light Detection and Ranging (LiDAR) perception technology and localizing autonomous driving technology.
CEO Kim has led the commercialization of the LiDAR perception solution ‘VueOne’ for autonomous driving, ADAS, and smart infrastructure, and the urban safety and crowd analysis solution ‘VueTwo,’ based on the company’s technological prowess as the first in the world to obtain a ‘LiDAR single sensor-based temporary autonomous driving license’ (Korea and the United States).
Recently, Vueron introduced ‘Vuex,’ a platform that enables the entire AI development process—including LiDAR data collection, labeling, training, and deployment—to be handled in one place. This system allows even non-experts to intuitively build AI models in a web-based environment.
Based on these technological developments and commercialization achievements, Vueron is recognized for having established a practical technology ecosystem in the fields of LiDAR perception and smart infrastructure. ‘VueOne’ is designed to operate in real time across various LiDAR sensors and automotive chipsets, expanding its market through B2B licensing models in collaboration with global manufacturers and parts suppliers. ‘VueTwo’ is also being applied to municipal intersection safety systems and crowd analysis environments, with its use in public infrastructure steadily growing.
Vueron has been recognized for its technological excellence by winning a total of six awards at major international technology events, including the Consumer Electronics Show (CES), Tech.AD, and World Smart City Expo (WSCE). The company is also rapidly strengthening its technological competitiveness in the global market, as evidenced by its swiftly increasing overseas sales.
CEO Kim stated, “It is very meaningful that our continuous efforts for the localization and global expansion of LiDAR perception technology have been recognized. We will continue to innovate to enhance the safety and completeness of autonomous driving technology and ensure that Korean technology plays a greater role in the global market.”
