📰 Zoox expands autonomous robotaxi testing to Miami |
Zoox has started deploying its purpose-built robotaxi on public roads in Austin, Texas, marking the latest phase in the company’s expansion of autonomous ride hailing services. The rollout follows a testing program that began in mid-2024, when a retrofitted Zoox fleet was used to map the city and train its AI systems. These vehicles operated with safety drivers while collecting data, which was then transferred to the company’s purpose-built robotaxi platform. In the initial phase, the robotaxi will operate in selected areas of Austin, including West and East Sixth, downtown, East Cesar Chavez, Riverside and the Rainey Street district. |
📰 Pony.ai debuts new autonomous driving compute platform |
Pony.ai has begun using a new autonomous driving domain controller – a high-performance compute system designed for Pony.ai’s L4 autonomous driving platform and also a broader set of customer applications across autonomous mobility. Developed in collaboration with Nvidia, the new controller is built on the Nvidia Drive Hyperion platform and powered by Nvidia Drive AGX Thor with Nvidia NVLink, supporting Pony.ai’s next phase of commercialization in robotaxis and its growing domain controller business. The new system is designed to deliver significant gains in AI computing performance, energy efficiency and support for the latest AI models, while meeting core L4 requirements such as multisensor fusion, full-scenario perception and high-complexity scenario understanding. |
📰 Tesla FSD Probe: Ministry Refers Unauthorized Activation Case to Police |
The Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport (MOLIT) has launched a formal response by requesting a police investigation into the unauthorized activation of autonomous driving features. This marks the first case in the era of Software-Defined Vehicles (SDVs) where the arbitrary modification of vehicle functions has been classified as a "serious legal violation." On the 23rd, MOLIT announced that it recently requested the National Police Agency to investigate instances of regulatory violations involving unauthorized software modifications. These cases include the illicit activation of Tesla’s Full Self-Driving (FSD) "Supervised" features on certain vehicles within the country. |
📰 Humanetics launches testing platform to improve efficiency and support NCAP 2026 requirements |
Humanetics has introduced UFOnext, a next-generation ADAS testing platform designed to address the increasing complexity and resource demands of modern safety validation. UFOnext optimizes ADAS validation by combining high-speed performance (140km/h+) with rapid acceleration, enabling manufacturers to meet strict NCAP 2026 requirements with greater efficiency and less track space. |
📰 Ouster’s new color lidar is coming to replace cameras |
Ouster announced its new ‘Rev8’ sensor lineup featuring native color lidar, which captures both 3D depth and color imagery simultaneously in a single device. raditionally, combining lidar and camera data required complex, time-consuming calibration. Rev8 eliminates this "operational friction" by doing the work of two sensors in one. |
